This is a very finite and personal collection of images shot in the Caribbean last year on assignment. At the time it was more about securing memories. Recently while revisiting the collection I realized that there might be something there worth sharing. I love interiors, and I love how much the candid iterior can say about a person or place. My accomodations in the islands were incredible varied. From delapidated cinderblock cells with creaking mattress springs and armies of crawling things to 10th floor suites overlooking twinkling city lights. This collection is much larger than what's shown here. Many interiors were photographed with a carelessness that came as a result of exhaustion from photographing on the hot streets all day. An obligatory snap made before collapsing onto starchy sheets. Now I regret not spending more time with each space, as many of those pictures just don't make the cut. It's interesting how many sets and subsets of images can come out of a major photographic voyage. The journey itself must be documented, the things intended to be documented must be documented, and often the little personal details must be documented when time and energy allow. I guess these pictures are a combination of journey scenes and personal scenes. Enjoy.

its 547 pm up here in fenwick right now. nursing a cold, wandering the cottage examining objects, workrooms, and glued to the ever present view of the sea. rain is moving in. squalls visible along the horizon. the three of us inhabiting the only illuminated cottage along miles of coastline. most people avoid the beach in the winter. i love it.
